i feel like if they use their money responsible and financially well it shouldn't matter. If they want to use the money on branded clothes they should be able to do so without someone telling them its rude and such. If they want to use their money on savings, investments, shopping then they should be able to do so i feel like. Maybe they don't necessarily NEED to buy branded clothes, but if that's what they want and like to do i don't see a problem with it necessarily.

A good example of a story where the villain wins is the musical Hadestown! It’s based on the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, which famously ends in tragedy. The whole point of the musical is that people will retell and listen to stories over and over again, despite knowing that they end badly. I thought that was a really interesting way to challenge the idea that people only want to retell/relisten to/rewatch stories with happy endings.

Fully understand the way the vibe changes for work when you're all WFH. Im also in a data job and people have a tendency to be introverts so when WFH its not unusual to not talk to ppl gor several days. At least in the office it was forced socialising in a (relatively) safe space. Outside of work im not exactly catching up with friends every few days, so work was also my place to be around people. We are a nationally disbursed team, but my director is used to dealing with teams at a local level, so isnt naturally good at creating the team dynamic virtually (he would just rather never have a meeting). I have to admit as much as i enjoy my job, if i had something else to do, or if i do get any of the other jobs im applying for i will probably leave too. Makes me sad but the job is no longer ticking all the boxes.
